PCG Hiring 2022 | Training Program in Taiwan

CALL FOR APPLICANTS: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is looking for CADETS who will pursue the FOUR-YEAR CADET TRAINING PROGRAM at the Department of Maritime Police, Central Police University in Taoyuan City, Taiwan in September 2022!

Details are:

1) Qualification:

  • Natural born Filipino Citizen
  • 17-22 years old
  • At least 5'2" for male and 5' for female
  • Medically and Physically fit
  • Pass the PCG Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Pass the Swimming Qualification Test (SQT)
  • At least High School graduate
  • Single and with no legal dependents
  • No derogatory records
  • Satisfactory command of English language
  • Willing to take 3-6 months Mandarin Language Course

2) Benefits and Obligation

  • Upon completion of the 4 year cadet training program, the PCG cadet will be commissioned as an ACTIVE COAST GUARD OFFICER with the rank of 'Ensign'  and will render a minimum of 8 years service of obligation to the PCG

4) Requirements

  • Accomplished Application Form
  • Personal Information Sheet
  • Personal History Sheet
  • Scanned copy of High School Report Card or Transcript of Records
  • Scanned copy of PSA Birth Certificate
  • Colored whole body picture (with white background wearing T-shirt and maong pants)
  • Essay stating reasons for joining the program: How do you think the 4 year experience can help PCG; and your expectation on the Coast Guard career

5) Process of Application 

  1. Submission of application requirements
  2. If qualified, applicants will be informed thru call/text that they will undergo the PFT and SQT
  3. If applicants passed the PFT and SQT, they will be interviewed by the PCG and Taiwan Embassy via online application
  4. Deliberation of the PCG Education and Training Board (PCGETB) for qualified nominees
  5. The PCGETB selected nominees will be forwarded to the PCG Commandant for approval
  6. Names and requirements of the approved nominees will be submitted to the Taiwan Embassy
  7. The Taiwan Embassy will assessed and will comprehensively evaluate 2 to 4 scholars

6) Timeline

Deadline of ApplicationFeb. 18, 2022

Date of PFT/SQT/Interview: Mar 1-4, 2022

PCGETB's Selection of Applicants: Mar 7-11, 2022

Submission of Embassy: Mar 15, 2022

Announcement of Selected Candidates: June 2022

Online Mandarin Class: April 2022

Face to Face Mandarin Class in Taiwan: TBAL

Announcement of Admission: TBAL

Start of Cadet Training Program in Taiwan: September 2022
