Napolcom Exam Schedule 2023: PNP Exam Requirements, Coverage





The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is responsible for the conduct of Police Examinations for aspiring patrolmen/women (PNP Entrance Exam) as well as those who are already in the service (pnp promotional exam).

The Napolcom Exam is held twice a year in different testing centers nationwide. If you are planning to enter the PNP, the first thing you should do is pass the Napolcom PNP Entrance Exam.


However, if you are already a Licensed Criminologist, or pass the board exam and obtain a Second Level Eligibility, then you don’t need to take this exam anymore and you can apply directly to the
 PNP Online Application Portal.

Qualifications

Here are the minimum qualification standards for each type of exam:

Napolcom Exam Schedule 2023

Napolcom will open Online Registration from November 07, 2023 (12 Noon) until November 17, 2023, for the nationwide conduct of the PNP Entrance Examination (PNPE) and the Promotional Examination on December 10, 2023.

Napolcom Online Application

Before initiating the online registration process, applicants must ensure they have the following documents ready for upload:

  1. One (1) Valid Government-Issued ID: Applicants are required to upload a scanned copy (in JPEG format) of a valid government-issued ID. Eligible IDs include the National ID, PNP ID, Passport, Postal ID, Driver’s License, PRC ID, and more. This ID is essential for identification and validation.

Online Registration Procedure

The online registration process is designed to be user-friendly and efficient. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Visit the NAPOLCOM Website: Start by visiting the official NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph or directly go to this link https://napolcom-noris.org/. 
  2. Select Your Desired Exam: Choose between the PNP Entrance or Promotional Exams, depending on your eligibility and career goals.
  3. Complete Required Information: Fill out the necessary personal and contact details. It is crucial to review the information for accuracy and completeness.
  4. Upload Your Scanned ID: Upload a scanned copy of your valid government-issued ID in JPEG format.
  5. Review and Confirm: Once all required information and documents are uploaded, review your registration details. If everything is correct, confirm your registration.
  6. Generate the Notice: After successful registration and document upload, the system will generate a Notice. This Notice will list the requirements to be presented during the application processing at your Regional Office.

Application Processing

The next phase of the application process involves processing your registration and paying the exam fee. Here’s what you need to know:

A. Time Limit: You have 48 hours from the time of successful online registration to process your application and pay the exam fee. Failure to comply with this timeframe will result in the forfeiture of your application, and the exam fee will be lost if you do not appear on the exam day.

An applicant with a confirmed processing schedule shall proceed to the regional office for the filing of the index card (to be provided by the regional office)with the following requirements:

B. Requirements for Processing:

  • PNP Entrance Exam (for Civilians):
    a. The Notice generated after online registration (printed or electronic copy).
    b. Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
    c. Authenticated copies of any of the following: Transcript of Records, Diploma, Certificate of Graduation.
    d. One (1) valid government-issued ID (National ID, Passport, Postal ID, Driver’s License, PRC, etc.).
    e. One (1) legal-size window envelope with twenty-one pesos (Php21.00) worth of stamp.
    f. One (1) recent 1″ x 1″ size photo (in color) with a name tag (first, middle, and last names).
    g. Exam Fee: Four Hundred Pesos (Php400.00).
  • PNP Entrance Exam (for Patrolmen/Patrolwomen with Temporary Status of Appointment):
    a. The Notice generated after online registration (printed or electronic copy).
    b. Authenticated copy of KSS Form bilang 33/Appointment Order.
    c. One (1) valid government-issued ID (PNP, National ID, Passport, Driver’s License, PRC, etc.).
    d. One (1) legal-size window envelope with twenty-one pesos (Php21.00) worth of stamp.
    e. One (1) recent 1″ x 1″ size photo (in color) with a name tag (rank, first, middle, and last names).
    f. Exam Fee: Four Hundred Pesos (Php400.00).



Issuance of the Notice of Admission (NOA)

When an applicant’s examination application is approved by the Regional Office, they will be issued a Notice of Admission (NOA). This notification is a crucial document, as only candidates with a printed NOA are authorized to take the exam.



Examination Attire

The attire for the NAPOLCOM Entrance and Promotional Examinations is specific and strictly enforced. Compliance with the dress code is essential for entry into the examination center. Here are the dress code requirements:

A. PNP Entrance Examinees

  • White shirt
  • Shoes
  • Black or dark blue pants (maong/slacks)

B. PromEx Examinees

  • PNP GOA Type C uniform Examinees not adhering to the prescribed attire will not be allowed to enter the examination center. However, the Examination Administrator may authorize the wearing of a PNP Patrol Shirt or the Field Service Uniform (green/pixelized camouflage) for justifiable or exceptional reasons.

Documents/Items to Bring During the Examination

To ensure a smooth examination process, candidates must bring the following items:

  1. Notice of Admission (NOA): This document serves as proof of authorization to take the exam.
  2. One (1) valid government-issued ID: Accepted IDs include National ID, PNP ID, Passport, Driver’s License, PRC ID, among others.
  3. Pencil No. 2: This pencil is required for marking answers on the exam.
  4. Black or Blue ballpen: This is used for signing the Room Assignment List, countersigning the Index Card as required, and for answering the essay part in the case of PO2 and PO1 Class exams.


Reminders

Applicants should be aware of the following important reminders:

A. Data Accuracy: All information provided by the applicant in the Index Card and the submitted required documents must be accurate and true. These details are considered official data.

B. Qualification Review: An applicant’s qualifications are subject to final review and verification by the Examining Division-Personnel and Administrative Service (ED-PAS) of NAPOLCOM. If necessary, additional documents may be requested.

C. Exam Results Notification: All examinees, whether they pass or fail the exams, will be notified of their results.


Prohibitions, Violations, and Sanctions

NAPOLCOM takes exam integrity seriously and enforces strict prohibitions against certain behaviors during the examination. Violations may result in severe sanctions, including permanent disqualification and criminal or administrative liability. The following are prohibited:

A. Acts of Cheating: Examinees involved in cheating acts, such as impersonation, use of codigo or crib sheets, tampering with exam records, collusion, test booklet switching, or other similar acts facilitating exam passing, will have their results invalidated.

B. Police Officers’ Anomalous Acts: Police officers found involved in anomalous acts will not only be barred from taking the PESE exam but may also face charges of dishonesty and potential dismissal from service.

C. Use of Fake NAPOLCOM Eligibility: Individuals found using fake NAPOLCOM eligibility for entry into the police service will be permanently barred from taking NAPOLCOM exams and may face appropriate charges.

D. Proctor, Examiner, and Official Liability: Officials and persons involved in exam administration who are found to have colluded in anomalous practices or demonstrated gross negligence may face criminal or administrative liability.

E. Nullification of Anomalous Eligibility: Police Service Eligibility obtained through anomalous practices will be nullified.

F. Prohibited Items: Bringing prohibited items, such as firearms, explosives, two-way radios, cell phones, electronic gadgets, calculators, smart watches, and review materials, into the exam center is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

G. Additional Prohibitions: Bags, knapsacks, envelopes, folders, and other unnecessary items are also prohibited inside the exam center.


Notification of Examination Results

Upon the completion of the examination, candidates can expect to receive the results as follows:

A. Nationwide List of Successful Examinees: This list will be posted at the One-Stop-Shop (NOSS), 7th Floor, DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, NAPOLCOM Building in Quezon City.

B. Regional Lists: Regional lists of successful examinees will also be posted at NAPOLCOM Regional Offices.

C. Certificates of Eligibility or Report of Rating: Successful examinees will receive a Certificate of Eligibility, while failed examinees will receive a Report of Rating. These documents will be mailed to the examinees’ mailing addresses.

In the event that an examinee passes the exam but does not receive their Certificate of Eligibility, they may request a Certification from the NAPOLCOM Central and Regional Offices for a fee of One Hundred Fifty Pesos.


Napolcom PNP Entrance Exam Coverage

While waiting for the Exam, you can review the subjects/topics covered in the exam. As the saying goes ” The future belongs to those who prepare for it today”.

The three-hour Napolcom exam consists of objective-type/multiple-choice items and covers the following subject areas:

  • Philippine Constitution and History
  • PNP Law and History
  • Criminal Justice System
  • Current Events
  • Social Awareness and Value Judgment

Verbal Reasoning

  • Vocabulary
  • Comprehension
  • Grammar

Quantitative Reasoning

  • Basic Concepts
  • Problem-Solving Skills

Logical Reasoning

  • Verbal
  • Non-Verbal

Those who passed the examination are conferred by the National Police Commission the PNP Entrance Eligibility which is appropriate for appointment to the rank of Patrolman/Patrolwoman as prescribed under Sec.30 of Republic Act No. 6975 as amended by Republic Act No. 8551.
